Helping Al and Yoki Prepare, Move, and Settle In

Home sale preparation, move support, and a safer backyard for the next chapter.

We thought we only needed help with boxes and the yard, but Phil guided us through every step of preparing our home for sale. He researched repairs, organized donations, and handled the heavy lifting. Our house was ready on schedule and sold just four days after being listed.” —Al & Yoki

I helped Al and Yoki move through a full transition, from preparing their previous home for sale to settling into their new one. The work included repairing window systems to avoid unnecessary replacement, painting the deck, preparing the yard, packing and organizing belongings across multiple storage units, and separating items for donation, family, storage, and the new house. After the move, I continued by building a safer, more usable outdoor space with a cedar gazebo and reinforced side-yard walkway. The goal was not just to finish tasks. It was to create order, reduce stress, and help them feel confident throughout the process. This is Steadwell’s approach: practical problem-solving, hands-on support, and thoughtful transition planning.

Problem: The home needed to be prepared for sale; belongings had multiple destinations; repairs, packing, storage, and move decisions were overlapping; and the new yard had unsafe, unusable areas.

Action: Repair window systems → paint deck and prepare yard → pack and sort belongings → organize storage units and new home → separate donations and family items → assemble gazebo → excavate, level, reinforce, and finish side-yard walkway.

Outcome: Home prepared for market quickly; unnecessary window replacement avoided; belongings moved into clear destinations; clients felt more organized and confident; new outdoor space became safer, shaded, and functional.

The Process

Before: The side yard sloped steeply toward the fence, making it difficult and unsafe to walk through.
